Language Arts Course Outline + Evaluation
OUTCOMES:
The aim of English Language Arts is to enable each student to understand and appreciate language, and to use it confidently and competently in a variety of situations for communication, personal satisfaction and learning. Students will listen, speak, read, write, view, and represent.
EVALUATION
The student's mark will be based upon a summative evaluation linked to the learning outcomes

Year's Work - 80%
Mid-Term Exam - 10%
Final Exam - 10%
COURSE CONTENT
Lessons will center around a theme/topic and skills will be taught through a variety of activities and resources. The time period designated to any one topic may vary, depending on the number and type of skills and activities to be integrated into that topic. In any one topic, the six essential areas of language listed above will be practiced and linked to the learning outcomes.

-Paper (secured in a binder)

-Pens (both blue and red)

-Erasers
​
-From time to time you may be asked to bring in scissors, glue, pencil crayons, markers, etc.
